Helping to Weave the Nativity Dream…

Nativity Prep would like to highlight and thank a few of our most current “Dream Weavers”.  These people have helped to strengthen, support, and sustain the Spirit of Nativity.

Kathy Craven and Pilot School have generously partnered with Nativity to help us identify previously undetected learning issues and to provide assistance in  handling them.  We are thankful for all the time, energy, and compassion that Kathy has demonstrated toward our students and Nativity!

Ric and Sharon Struthers have given Nativity two wonderful gifts.  For their 25th wedding anniversary, in lieu of gifts they requested that donations be made to Nativity.  This past month, they matched those gifts. This generous contribution has become part of Nativity?s endowment fund!

Pat Zumbrum and her Angels provided Nativity students, faculty and staff with burgundy hooded sweatshirts as Christmas gifts.  We are grateful for their energy and generosity in making this gift happen!

Dan Costello for his work with Nativity’s 2008-2009 basketball program.  His time, energy, and patience given to scheduling details made for a smooth running operation.  Along with Dan we thank our coaches, moderators and parents who stood alongside our players during the season!

Rose Webster, our school nurse, for volunteering her time at least 2 days a week to come to Nativity and take care of our students.  She also arranges and facilitates the free medical services provided to our students.  Thank you, Rose!!

Lisa Schmidt, an attorney with Richards, Layton & Finger, has taken a lead in developing the Challenge 300 initiative.  As a direct result of her efforts we received $1,200 in individual donations for the scholarship fund and a new Pioneer Scholarship of $8,000.  We are grateful for her efforts!!

Eleven year old Megan Mulrooney is truly a ?Dream Weaver?.  Instead of receiving gifts from her friends and family for her 11th birthday, she requested gift cards for Barnes and Noble to be given to Nativity Prep.  To date $130 in gift cards has been donated to Nativity.  We use gift cards as a weekly reward for students who embody the Spirit of Nativity as described in the Nativity Pledge.  Megan is truly living the Spirit of Nativity.  Thank you Megan for helping to weave our dreams.

The “Fat Boyz Club” of Kirkwood Fitness Center has been very generous to Nativity.  This select group of men has challenged one another to loose weight or else pay a fine.  They have agreed to donate their fines to Nativity.  Unfortunately for them but fortunately for us the fines have totaled $500.  When they gain, we gain.  “Fat Boyz,” we thank you for thinking of us, and we do wish you success.
