Nativity Preparatory School is a tuition-free Catholic middle school for boys from low-income families in the Wilmington area. It aims to educate the whole person –intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually –in light of the teachings of St. Francis de Sales. Since Nativity prepares its students for acceptance into the finer private schools in the greater Wilmington area, it serves students who are eager and willing to meet the challenge of a rigorous and disciplined academic curriculum and who have the capacity to develop their characters in accord with the “Nativity Pledge.”

Nativity-Miguel Model Mission Statement

The Nativity-Miguel Model is a middle school which seeks to provide a quality education, integrated with personal, moral, and spiritual development, for students of low-income urban families, who would not otherwise have access to such an education. Through its preparatory programs and through guidance during the student’s further education, the Nativity model is designed to transform the life and aspirations of each student so as to encourage a student with strong motivation and parental support to realize his fullest human potential as a productive member of society and as a leader and role-model in his family and community.
