How to Apply

Thank you for your interest in Nativity Preparatory School of Wilmington, a private Catholic, tuition-free, extended day and year middle school for boys.  Guided by the example of Saint Francis de Sales, the gentleman saint, it strives to educate students – regardless of faith – by means of a rigorous and holistic curriculum, to maximize their God given potential.  The goal for each student is to earn acceptance and succeed in a college preparatory high school.

While Nativity Prep educates boys in grades five through eight, we ordinarily restrict admission to grades five and six.

The admission process, which will take a few months to complete and does not guarantee admission, is described below.

1.             Beginning in November 2011, the parent/guardian, who is interested in Nativity Preparatory School of Wilmington for his/her student, should contact the school and request an appointment for the math and reading testing.  The testing as well as the post-test conference will take approximately one hour.

2.             If the testing indicates that your student meets the standards for admission, the parent/guardian will receive an application packet.  Once the completed application (and all supporting documentation) is received by the school, the admission process may proceed to the next stage.

3.             The prospective student is scheduled to spend a day at Nativity Preparatory School of Wilmington.  During this day, the prospective student has the opportunity to tour the school, observe classes, and get a sense of life at Nativity Prep.  Similarly, the prospective student will be observed in terms of his classroom behavior and his interactions with both students and faculty.  This observation will be shared with the Admissions Committee.

4.             After the observation day, the prospective student may be scheduled to meet with the Admissions Committee.  After this interview, the committee will deliberate and the applicant will be accepted or declined.

If you have any questions regarding the school or you would like to schedule an appointment for testing, please call us at 302-777-1015.
