Nativity Prep works in partnership with A Better Chance. This is a College Preparatory Schools Program that identifies, places, and support minority students in outstanding college preparatory schools. They select middle school students who consistently perform at or above grade level in Math and English. They must have an overall academic average of B+ or better and be ranked in the top 10 percent of the class. The program is optional and rigorous. Once parents and students accept entrance, and the students qualify they are coached by the ABC program for tests, etc. Nativity sees this as a more helpful way to gain entrance into private and independent schools. And in these difficult economic times, it also allows for easier high school funding.
Students and their families meet with A Better Chance representatives and begin the application process during the Spring of the student’s 7th grade year.
